Southfield Park Primary School Joins Lumen Learning Trust
Southfield Park Primary School officially joined Lumen Learning Trust on 1st November 2025. This new partnership not only strengthens the Trust’s vision for growth but also enriches the learning journey of all involved by broadening the curriculum and deepening the support available to everyone in our community.
Supporting Southfield Park’s commitment to every child succeeding
Found a short drive from Epsom town centre, Southfield Park has long been recognised for creating a happy and exciting environment where children learn within a nurturing and inspiring community of peers and staff, enabling every child to excel and shine. The decision to join our Multi Academy Trust, is set to provide Southfield Park with a primary education focused network of specialists, supported by rigorous central processes.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Southfield Park to our growing Lumen Academy family,” said Trust Executive Principal Mary Ellen McCarthy. “Their commitment to every pupil to be their best resonates strongly with the Lumen Learning Trust ethos of developing successful lifelong learners. Together, we will create a learning environment that supports every child’s growth in learning, relationships and wellbeing.”
Collaboration and opportunity benefits realised
This exciting step marks the beginning of a new chapter for Southfield Park, as it looks to build on its many strengths while benefiting from the shared expertise and support that comes from being part of a like-minded community of primary schools within Lumen. The move will bring new opportunities for professional development, innovation in teaching and shared resources from dedicated expertise —all of which will benefit our pupils, staff and wider school community.
Additionally, the Trust model, which naturally allows and positively encourages strong collaboration among schools, will allow staff at Southfield Park to work alongside colleagues from other Lumen schools in mutually rewarding partnerships, sharing best practises via cross-school workshops to broaden and enrich the teaching on offer and deepening the support available to everyone in the Trust community.
Southfield Park’s Head, Sally Smith continued, “This is a really positive step for our school. It gives us the chance to build on everything we’re proud of, while also connecting with other schools who share our vision. The support and opportunities that come with being part of the Trust will help us go from strength to strength.”
Positive Impact on the Local Community
This new partnership has been met with enthusiasm from parents and the wider community. A member of the school’s parent-teacher association shared, “We’re looking forward to the extra support that will benefit our children’s learning and development. Joining Lumen Learning Trust will offer valuable new opportunities and resources that can make a real difference.”
