Train to teach in a LOCAL primary school
The School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme is typically a year-long course which enables you to learn ‘on the job’ from the very beginning. The key advantage of this training is that you will be working and learning every day in a local school, and consequently gaining great insight into what teaching involves.
At the end of the year you have Qualified Teacher Status and will be able to apply for roles in any primary maintained or independent school. Our SCITT provider is Surrey South Farnham, an Ofsted-rated Outstanding provider. But please don’t think you have to travel to Farnham for the training! We are working with local schools to enable training to take place locally and more conveniently.
